Overview
The UNESCO recognized village of Abyaneh is one of the oldest villages in Iran with houses harmonious with climate and mountains characterized by a peculiar reddish hue.
This historical village contains some works from Sassanid period to the present time such as the ruins of a Sasanid era fort on top of the village and the unique temple of “Herpak”, a mosque from Seljukian period.
This village preserved the old speaking, clothing and living styles. Sassanid Pahlavic words are in daily conversation as well as villagers’ clothing that is rooted in earlier times. A typical woman wears a white long scarf with colourful patterns and an under-knee skirt.
