Overview
Originally established during the Seljuk era, Neishabour was the earliest capital of Khorasan. With a great number of poets and scholars, Neishabour is considered the cultural, artistic, and ancient center. Neishabour had been placed along the main road of trading, the Silk Road, in ancient times and many merchants had to pass along this city.
Few kilometers away from Neishabur is the unique Wooden Village. This village contains a number of wooden houses, shops and huts, mosque, museum, library, restaurant, traditional bakery, pergola, green areas and its beautiful ecosystem. The mosque is a great attraction in which every little detail is beautifully carved in wood. Textures vary as one begins to realize that every section is made from a different kind of tree. Cherry, walnut, pear, ash and berry are just to name a few.
