Ardabil is a historical city in north-western Iran located in the skirts of Sabalan Mountain. The name Ardabil has Zoroastrian origin means a “holy place”. The dominant majority in Ardabil is Azeris. Ardabil is famous for its silk and carpet. It is also known as the seat of a World Heritage Site: the sanctuary and tomb of Shaikh Safî ad-Dîn of the Safavid Dynasty.
