I am traveling to Iran and I like to know if it is possible to buy an antique Persian miniature painting there. If so, how many of those can I take out of the country?

Travelers in Iran are almost excited when seeing Iranian artworks and fine arts in the shops. Those can be the best souvenir from Iran that will bring happiness for many years.
Explore traditional bazaars in different cities especially Shiraz and Isfahan or even in the modern bazaars of Tehran. There you’ll find too many miniature and other Persian fine arts. The miniatures are mostly painted on a thin layer of bones in the form of boxes or other decorative containers.
The price is different depending on the artist’s skill, the quality of the work, and mainly the size of the miniature.
By the way, taking miniature out of Iran is not an issue.
