Question:
I wanna visit Iran in December. Please advise on how to get connected with my family. Should the cell phones be registered on arrival to Iran or they won’t work? Which mobile operator is recommended?
Answer:
No registration is required if you are going to stay in Iran for less than a month.
You can buy a SIM card at the airport or at the offices of mobile network operators. Irancell and Hamrah Aval are suggested telecommunication and Internet service providers.
You just need to give them a copy of your passport and the SIM card will be automatically activated.
