Fereni is a popular sweet and smooth dessert in Persian cuisine. This recipe combines sweet rice pudding and rose water garnished with cinnamon and crushed pistachio.

  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3tbsp rose water

How to prepare Fereni?

Step 1: Preparing Ingredients

Mix flour, sugar, cold water, and milk in a saucepan.

Crush the pistachios.


Step 2: Cooking Fereni

Put the saucepan onto the stovetop over low heat and stir until it gets thick.

Now add the rose water and stir. Turn off the stove.


Step 3: Serve

Ladle the mixture into 4 individual bowls and let it chill. Put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Garnish with cinnamon, crushed pistachio, and rose petals.
