Question:
I’ll arrive in Iran on March 1st for 2 weeks visit. While I am in Tehran I would like to know besides museums and Shah palaces, what are other sites of interest to visit in and around Tehran?
I would also like to know if I can use Cameras in the museums or not.
Thanks
Jason
Answer:
Hi Jason, read your answers below:
Tehran sites of interest: Tehran the capital of Iran for about two centuries is a perfect place to get familiar with recent Iran. To know all about Tehran and the monuments to visit you can check Tehran Travel Guide.
Taking photos in museums in Iran: As a general rule of thumb, just like the prohibition about carrying big lenses inside historic monuments and museums, tripods are considered more serious equipment to use for photography. Amateurish photography isn’t supposed to need them. So, they are considered professional equipment. I know you may argue they are ordinary devices every photographer needs here and there, but I must say this is how tripods are looked upon in Iranian museums and sites. Therefore, you have to abide by the rules here.
