Question:
We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) and are planning to visit Iran. As hiring a van will cost a lot we prefer to use trains. Is it possible to travel between cities via the railway system? How much will the accommodation cost? We are also into food. Can we find traditional dishes in Iran?
Answer:
Iran enjoys a widespread network of railways which make it possible to travel between the major cities easy and cheap. The trains are comfortable and clean. Besides the trains, you can use the buses which are really comfortable, cheap and mostly new.
By spending 30-40$ a night you can stay in an acceptable quality hotel which provides you with clean beds, internet and breakfast.
In terms of food, you can enjoy a good variety of tasty Iranian foods in local restaurants which are available in all small and big cities. You can find both expensive and cheap food.
